The Museo Casa Natal de Cervantes is located at the place where, according scholars, Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra’s (1547-1616) family home was and where the litterateur was born and spent his early years.

The different rooms of the building recreate the customs, tastes and daily activities of the 16th and 17th centuries, with the aim of feeling the presence of their inhabitants. The Museum also has an impressive collection of Cervantes’ works from different periods and in different languages that are exhibited in the temporary exhibition room.

The Museum provides a consolidated programme of activities of many different kinds: children’s and adolescents’ workshops, thematic visits, musical and theatrical performances, conferences, etc. The activities take place throughout the year, with special emphasis on dates that are important to the institution, such as International Book Day (April 23), Museum Night (May 18) and Cervantes Week (October 12).
